Harsh reviews on here but as a sequel to a corking teen slasher this does the job merely fine . Well crafted and directed set in a very different setting for a horror pic but works well . some bossy reviews on here that merely either detest horror movies or teen slashers scout the first motion-picture show before you watch this one and i retrieve you will be pleasantly surprised 3 /5

Creepy and non in the scary horror kind of mode. Danny Cannon's miserable sequel to the classic 1997 slasher horror thriller I Know What You lot Did Last Summer, cleverly titled I Still Know What Y'all Did Last Summertime (1998) is unfortunately not clever at all. Information technology's as cliche and stupid as horror movies go with you wondering why anyone is thinking or interim similar they are the dumbest characters ever. Cannon'south direction seems like there'south potential, merely he does the worst matter possible in that only caring about a few fearsome horror sequences, the main plot and characters endure. Cannon misses why the commencement moving-picture show was so fun with its likable characters among the obnoxious jerks that you root for while uncovering Kevin Williamson's peachy mystery. There's the most cliché twist in this that rips off Scream something fierce, while tedious you lot with awful acting. Author Trey Callaway not just disrespects Kevin Williamson's brilliant writing for I Know What Y'all Did Terminal Summer with Callaway's atrociously corny and abrasive dialogue, simply he likewise throws the unabridged backstory out for his awful ripoff of Williamson's Scream storyline here. Callaway'southward writing is just garbage as characters will constantly moan and complain, not believe Julie even though they're supposed to exist her supportive friends, and people separate and go killed in the dumbest means. I Still Know What You Did Last Summertime is creepily and constantly trying to get Matthew Settle's eerie, ridiculous, loser, nerd Volition to sleep with Jennifer Love Hewitt'southward endearing Julie James. Settle looks like a D-List Tom Prowl and he cannot deed to save his life. Why was he bandage? She's however sweetness and interesting, but the fact that they have her questioning her human relationship with Freddie Prinze Jr.'southward Ray, who totally gets the shaft here every bit he'due south only in three brusque scenes, so they never get to develop their romance. It's such a strange pick. Hewitt is all the same gorgeous, endearing, and earnest in every scene, simply Julie gets little to zilch to do equally she is relegated to a side character with bad dreams and trauma from the outset movie. Brandy Norwood is lovely equally Karla, only her character is unbelievably obnoxious and selfish. She's weirdly pushing Hewitt's Julie into a relationship with Will, even though Julie and Ray are already dating and the audience already likes them. In that location are and so many strange choices hither. Mekhi Phifer is such a mean creep as Tyrell that you desire him expressionless too. Muse Watson returns every bit The Fisherman with a new claw paw like the first flick'south old sociology ghost story, which is fun every bit he is frightening at times, if underused here. I just hate his new retconned background in I Still Know What Y'all Did Final Summer. It makes no sense and undermines The Fisherman's whole motive from the beginning picture show. Jennifer Esposito gets ane cracking scene equally the sassy bartender Nancy, then becomes this selfish jerk who even says to exit Brandy's Karla to dice, when she's hands savable. Bill Cobbs is fine as the porter, but he's forgotten well-nigh entirely. Jeffrey Combs is so rude equally the hotel concierge that he's not actually funny in a jaded mode, but just another mean spirited character. It feels similar every side graphic symbol is just there to not believe Hewitt's Julie. John Hawkes is funny and likable as Ray's friend Dave until he's immediately killed afterwards. Jack Blackness is actually pretty cringe inducing as the white weed dealer with dreadlocks and a goofy black accent. Mark Boone Junior gets a nice cameo as the pawn shop owner, but that's the last y'all'll see of him. In all, this cast pales in comparison to the first movie I Know What You Did Final Summer. Peck Prior's editing is obnoxiously overcut with that lame late 90's rapid fire editing fashion, and so you cannot see anything for major scenes, and so suddenly there's very few interesting cuts during conversations. Vernon Layton'south cinematography seems nice with that moody 90'southward lighting and sinister medium shots. But his style falls short during the conversations at the resort later in the movie every bit things get boring fast. Yous're never afraid with these shots. Composer John Frizzell has a neat score, but information technology's so underused that I Still Know What You Did Terminal Summer somehow drags for 100 minutes. I loved the alternative 90's soundtrack, but you can barely hear the songs playing in the mix. The costumes and make-up are nice enough, merely very generic. In short, I wish that I Still Know What You Did Terminal Summer had more mode and finesse or any clever commentary on horror like Kevin Williamson'south writing for Scream and I Know What Y'all Did Final Summer.

The sequel that wasn't needed or wanted and above all was a lazy written waste of potential.

The title should have been "I Nevertheless Know What You Did Ii Summers Ago", but this isn't the only error in this obvious greenbacks grab.

The title should take been "I Still Know What You lot Did Two Summers Agone", only this isn't the only fault in this obvious cash catch.

[⭐️38%] I Know What You Did Last Summer (1997) was a film which was satisfying as a stand-alone movie, and then a sequel really does feel unnecessary and a money take hold of. That turns out to be the case every bit this I All the same Know What You Did Final Summer (1998) is well below the quality of its predecessor. This sequel does bring back the survivors of the first movie, however it doesn't know what to do with them. Freddie Prinze Jr'southward character having his own solo side plot which felt awkward and separate for the majority of the duration. And as for Jennifer Beloved Hewitt'southward grapheme she maintains the exaggeration from before whilst feeling similar she is a new character introduced with little to her. As well the laughable plot points and annoying over-the-top characters, I Withal Know What Yous Did Last Summer (1998) becomes an instantly forgettable slasher, with the remote isle in which it takes place on failing to add together any uniqueness.

Consistently poor grapheme choices make this sequel less fun than the first.
